A fire alarm was triggered at Edison Elementary this morning. Out of caution, the building was evacuated and the fire department responded. There was no fire, after the building was cleared it was determined that a student accidently bumped into an alarm pull, breaking it and sounding the alarm. Everyone has safely returned to class.

Mangum has no water and it is not expected to return soon. By statue, we must dismiss school. Therefore, we are asking that you to come immediately to the school to pick-up your students. Please use your normal car line. Students who can not be picked up or who ride a bus will remain at school until contact can be made. We WILL NOT drop off students until arrangements can be made.

Unfortunately, the pipes are frozen in both cafeterias. Therefore, regardless of road conditions, Mangum Schools will be closed on Friday, February 19. Once we return, administration will begin to make plans to make-up the lost instruction. Additionally, we are also considering a voluntary summer tutoring program. Details will be announced at a later date.

Mangum Schools will be closed on Thursday for inclement weather. Currently the pipes are frozen in both cafeterias and the new gym. If water can be restored and road conditions improve, we will attempt to have school on Friday, otherwise it will be Monday.

Because of the inclement weather Mangum Schools will be closed Tuesday, 2/16 and Wednesday, 2/17.

Mangum Schools will be closed on Thursday for inclement weather, and as previously scheduled on Friday for P/T Conf and Monday for President's Day. Please have a safe weekend.

There have been two separate positive COVID tests confirmed at the High School since last night. Although we are on Fall Break, the Threat Level has been raise to 4. We are working in conjunction with the State Health Department to notify anyone who has been exposed.

We have a staff member at Edison Elementary who has reported a positive COVID test. The State Department of Health has conducted the contact tracing. Fortunately, changes due to our COVID protocol such as eliminating visitors, utilizing plexi-glass partitions, and eliminating non-essential student traffic have resulted in no contact with this employee and students, staff or faculty while at school. Therefore, the threat level will remain at level 3.

The official COVID results have came back negative on the presumptive positive student. The quarantine has been lifted and the threat level has been reduced back to Level 3.

The Mangum Public Schools COVID Threat Level has been raised to Level 4. We have an elementary student who is considered positive until official results can be obtained. Six students have been identified/notified as potentially exposed at school and will be quarantined.

A 3rd grade teacher has been exposed to COVID and although she tested negative over the weekend she will quarantine for 14 days. The family member who is positive does not live with the teacher and does not live in Mangum. Mangum Schools threat level remains unchanged at level 3 and school will resume tomorrow.
